Accra Hearts Of Oak Players set to dominate next Black Stars call-ups
Days after been crowned Champions of the Ghana Premier League, a graphic sports online source have it that, some outstanding talents in the Phobians team is most likely to be handed their maiden call-ups to the Senior Men National Team (Black Stars).
The Phobians won the league with a game to spare, their close title challengers Kotoko lost 2-1 to Bechem United whiles Hearts Of Oak played a 1-1 draw against Liberty professionals.
The draw took the Phibians to 61 points with Kotoko behind with 57 points.
The source says Coach C.K Akunnor were impressed with the boys in the Phobians team, and wish to pay them back by handing some of them call-ups to the Black Stars team.
Even though the source did not mentioned names, but outstanding performer’s like Salifu Ibrahim, goalkeeper Richard Atta and Afriyie Barnieh has been eye catching.
Salifu Ibrahim joined Samuel Boadu side from Techiman Eleven Wonders half season, but his creativity in the midfield was something that turned the table round, he had previously won five Player of the month awards before being signed by the Phobians, but his addition to the team put the Phobians in a sparkling form.
He one an additional three player of the month awards at Hearts Of Oak which took his tally to 8 player of the month awards. Which was enough to hand him the best local player awards at the Ghana Football Awards.
Afriyie Barnieh led the Black Satellites to Mauritania and came back with the Afcon trophy, his performances was sensational, and after coming back from the tournament, he scored the deciding goals in the Super clash against Kumasi Asante Kotoko and also scored in their 1-1 draw against Liberty professionals which all but confirmed them as Champions of the season for the first time in 12 years(since 2009).
The next Black Stars call-up will be in September for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe, South Africa and Ethiopia.
