Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko have announced changes in the technical team following the appointment of Mariano Barreto as the head coach.
The Portuguese has been appointed the new substantive head coach of the Porcupine Warriors on a two-year deal with option for renewal.
Before his appointment, Abdulai Gazalle was serving as the interim head coach with Johnson Smith as the assistant after the sacking of coach Maxwell Konadu but the two have now been demoted to position as youth team coaches.
Mariano Barreto will now serve as the head coach with Miguel Bruno as the assistant and video analyst.
Johnson Smith and Abdulai Gazalle has been demoted to the position as assistants and youth team coaches while Najahu Issah will maintain his position as the goalkeeper’s trainer and Pedro Manuel as the physical trainer and injury prevention coach.
Coach Barreto is expected to start work at Asante Kotoko when the league season resumes after the break.
