N/R : TAMALE METRO FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES JUVENILE COMPETITIONS AHEAD OF THE NEW FOOTBALL SEASON.

Juvenile football is back after the long term break as a results of COVID-19 pandemic. The Ghana Football Association launched the juvenile competitions on 28th April, 2021 to give way for DFAs to organize the various juvenile competitions under the supervision of their respective RFAs .

Tamale Metro Football Association is ready for the new season and has since launched the new season. The launch took place at the premises of the Association’s Office in Tamale on Sunday, 9th May, 2021. All the 26 juvenile clubs were heavily represented at the launch.

The Juvenile Competitions that were launched are the Juvenile League (U-13, U-15 and U-17), Wakaso Annual Challenge Cup (U-15) and Knock Out Competitions (U-13, U-15 and U-17). The juvenile league will start on 15th May, 2021 while Wakaso Annual Challenge Cup starts on 19th May, 2021. However, the date for the knock out competition is yet to be decided by the Executive Council of the Association.

Matters relating to officiation were also discussed.

The Association’s Chairman, Mr Abdul-Aziz Ramzy also used the opportunity to explain GFA’s stand on the Juvenile Football. He stated that there shall be regional competition for only the U-17 category. Hence, every DFA/MFA shall produce their Champions to compete in Inter-District Competitions to determine the Regional Champion that will represent the respective RFAs in the national Competition.

Juvenile Football has been on hold for more than a year now. Thankfully, it is back and promises to be interesting.
