Flamingo Boston FC and Sunshine Plus FC Wins Flamingo Boston Tournament 2020.

It was a friendly competitive eight – team tournament at the Dome CFC Estate Park between Sunday 27th September and Monday 28th September, 2020. The juvenile competition was organized by the club owner of Flamingo Boston Football Club Mr Enoch Osei Poku on the occasion of his birthday which fell on Sunday 27th September 2020.

With the assumption of football come 30th October 2020, Mr Osei being a football person decided to host an eight- team inter club competition among juvenile clubs to commemorate the occasion and serve as a pre-season preparation for the Under13 and Under15 categories of the clubs. The participating teams included: the hosts Flamingo Boston FC, Athens Soccer Academy, Covenant Stars Football Academy, Divine soccer Rangers Academy, Dome Newcastle Football Club, Glory City Football Club, Sunshine Plus Football club and Ultimate Football Club.

At the end of the exciting events the hosts Flamingo Boston FC emerged winners of the Under 13 category. They beat Glory city FC 4-3 on penalties after a scoreless draw in the final. In the under 15 category Sunshine Plus FC from Ashongman Estate defeated Divine Soccer Rangers Academy 3-0 on penalties after a 0-0 draw.

For individual honours Samuel Agyarko of Flamingo was adjudged best goalkeeper for U13, his team mate Patrick Gyamfi emerged top scorer with two goals whilst Faruk Mohamed of Glory City FC won the best player award. In the under 15 category Edmund Tetteh, Thywill Wilson Mawuli and Emmanuel Siadey all of Sunshine Plus FC swept home the Best goalkeeper, Top scorer and Best player awards respectively after a stunning performance.

Mr Maxwell Effah club owner of Sunshine Plus FC who was elated about his teams victory said “Congratulations on your well deserved victory. Wishing you all the very best in the future! Your performance was stunning! A dream does not become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” He also dedicated his team’s victory to the young talents of the African Vision Academy who were involved in the gory lorry accident at Ofinso. May the lives of the departed rest in peace he added.
